Cruisin' Doo-Wop (3 CD)

Doo-wop, czyli najbardziej pop'owy styl w w muzyce rhythm and blues, został okrzyknięty źródłem symfonii ulicznych, choć w przeważającej mierze gatunek ten opierał się na prostych piosenkach, wykonywanych jednak w sposób sugerujący, że odzwierciedlają one prawdziwe nadzieje i życie wykonawców. I w wielu przypadkach była to szczera prawda. Jeden szczery hymn a capella, usłyszany przez odpowiednią osobę, mógł sprawić, że każda grupa dzieciaków z różnych gett mogła osiągnąć sławę i żyć na wysokim poziomie, aczkolwiek bardzo często na ułamek sekundy. Prawdą może być, że doo-wop został w dużej mierze zepchnięty na margines nostalgii, a wielu jego protagonistów zostało zapomnianych. Jednak, jak dowodzi ta kompilacja, muzyka wciąż pozostaje fascynująca i aktualna.
